<p style="text-align: justify;">Adenose vaginal pode ocorrer como uma
anormalidade cong�nita e tamb�m com a exposi��o do feto ao
dietilestilbestrol (DES) no �tero (Prins et al., 1976). Por causa da
associa��o de exposi��o ao DES com adenocarcinoma de vagina, meninas
conhecidas por terem sido expostas desta maneira, t�m sido controladas
com esfrega�os por aspira��o vaginal. A presen�a de c�lulas colunares
alerta para a necessidade de investiga��o adicional. Em outros casos,
em algumas n�o expostas ao DES, o exame vaginal por outras raz�es tem
mostrado anormalidades nos f�rnices. O caso ilustrado aqui cai dentro
desta categoria; ela n�o tinha sido exposta ao DES.<span id="more-1414"></span></p>
