# Performance

This library was tweaked for best performance for single use - translating
application with many strings using mo file. Current benchmarks show it's about
four times faster than original php-gettext.

There are two benchmark scripts in the code:

* ``benchmark-context.php`` - benchmarks context usage
* ``benchmark-plural.php`` - benchmarks plural evaluation
* ``benchmark.php`` - benchmarks file parsing
* ``benchmark-apcu.php`` - benchmarks file parsing with APCu cache enabled
